After getting my commercial pilot's license I wanted to explore the world. Having always liked asian culture I applied at Japanese commuter airlines, got several replies and one taker, who flew me to Japan, and helped me transfer all my FAA certifications into Japanese counter parts. Been here since 2008. Am not planning on going back any time soon. Got married and have a baby boy here. I say this is my home now. I've also always wanted to go to Japan since about junior high school. My husband and I talk about going all of the time, because we both agree we won't be happy until we get to go. As for why...I don't really know. I've just always felt this interest and connection with learning the trappings of another culture. Keep your fingers crossed for me! First my husbands job brought us here after 911 and his company in the states shut down and gave us the option of East coast Pennsylvania or China. We took a trip to Pennsylvania, didn't want to t make a permanent move there so the took the 2 year offer for China! Been here 8 years now! Interesting! My name is Kevin as well and I was planning on heading to Busan. I also graduated with a BA and was thinking about getting into 3D animation (right now working as a graphic designer/flash animator). Job situation exactly the same....what's the point of making good money if you don't have time to enjoy it?! Thanks for the Japan vs. Korea video...made a lot of good points.
